Sinharaja Rainforest Trek
Sinharaja is the last large stretch of primary lowland rainforest in Sri Lanka and a World Heritage site. Walking with a local guide, you may hear and see endemic birds, colourful frogs, giant squirrels and plenty of leeches in damp conditions.
This is a walking day, not a jeep drive. Wear long, light clothing, sturdy shoes and be ready for mud. The reward is a dense, green forest few visitors see.
Highlights
- Guided walk through ancient rainforest
- Endemic birds, often in mixed hunting flocks
- Frogs, butterflies and forest streams
- A quieter alternative to the dry-zone parks
