Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage Visit

Pinnawala is a well-known elephant orphanage between Colombo and Kandy, where rescued and orphaned elephants are fed and brought to the river to bathe. It is a popular stop for families.

Visitors increasingly think about animal welfare, so look for the stop that treats the animals well and avoids close handling or rides. We can plan it as a stop on a longer journey or a short day out.
